ATTENTION ALL AUTHORS! To moving things along more quickly I haven't added any characters in the characters area. If you upload a fic in the following sections, you MUST list the romantic pairings in the summary of your fic: Crossovers, Willow & Other(s), & W/S/A(us)/Other(s). Any threesomes & moresomes also need to have the characters listed in the summary of your fic. Failure to do so may result in your fic being deleted.



Categories: If your fic is not placed in the proper category/subcategory then your submission will NOT be approved for the archive. It's the author's responsibility to know in which category/subcategory their fic belongs.



Type of fanfiction allowed for submission:

- Any fanfiction with Willow as one of the main characters rated G to NC-17. The fanfiction doesn't have to involve Willow in a romantic relationship, (friendship only) is great too! We LOVE X-overs! NO BESTIALITY!!! It's disgusting.

- No real-person characters are allowed at WLS unless the fic is a parody to avoid possible legal ramifications. For example, Orlando Bloom can't be in the fic as himself, only as one of the characters he's played in a movie or TV show (which would belong in one of the crossover sub-categories).



Ratings:


- Anything from rating from R-7 to R-18 (G to NC-17).

- When in doubt, rate up.

- Fanfiction rated incorrectly will be deleted. I'm talking DRASTICALLY incorrectly rated. Example: A fic that SHOULD be rated R-18 is rated R-13 by the author. The fic will be deleted & all future submissions by that author will be moderated.

- If you're not sure what to rate your fic, just think about it for a second. Is there some almost sex & a considerable amount of violence? If there is then it probably deserves at least an R-16 rating.

- If your characters are getting naked & groping &/or there are naked & throbbing man parts being inserted in interesting places, then it DEFINITELY deserves an R-18 rating.

- I reserve the right to change the rating of any fic submitted to WLS. If an author rates a fic R-13 & I believe it deserves an R-16 rating, I'm gonna change it. I'm not picky about the content, but all characters should be at least 17 years old if they're going to be involved in sexual intercourse. Please remember that smut is fun but porn is tacky. I need a PLOT people! No sex with children &/or animals please. Yuck!



Formatting your fic:


- Please have a complete line space between each paragraph. It makes reading your fic easier on my eyes & everyone else's.

- If you're going to use greater than/less than symbols " < > " to indicate internal dialogue/thoughts, please leave a space between the symbol & the word. Ex. < I just don't understand why he's being so melodramatic. > she thought. Two things can happen if you don't have a space separating the symbol & the word: 1.) from that point down your fic will be italicized, or 2.) the text that's surrounded by the symbols will not be visible. Instead of < I just don't understand why he's being so melodramatic. > she thought., you'll just have she thought.

- If you need any text in bold, italics, center, underline... please remember to include the closing slash (/). If you don't you could end up with an entire fic underlined, rather than just one word. Ex. (minus the spaces) < u > < / u >

- Uploading a .doc or .html/.htm file will make your fic look weird.

- The script understands carriage returns so, < b r > tags are not required. Some html tags such as < p > tags WILL cause your story to space oddly.

- The following html codes are allowed: < b > < i > < u > < center > < a > < hr >



What you need to do before submitting fic to the site:


- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a spelling & grammar check & then do a proof read to make sure it makes sense before submitting your fic. Trust me, you don't want to look like an idiot just because you couldn't wait to post your fic. If possible get a beta reader. Someone else might catch some mistakes you've missed. Don't know where to find one? *GUESS WHAT!* I have a list of available beta readers! Go HERE for more info.

- PLEASE GIVE A SUMMARY!!!

- Any fic written in the current season, recent book, or recent movie should have a spoiler warning in the summary.

- Any fic placed in the wrong area may be deleted without warning. Please pay attention to which part of the site you're uploading your fic. Examples: All crossover fic belongs in one of the crossovers section subcategories. EVEN if the pairing is a pairing I have a section for, it STILL belongs in the appropriate crossovers section subcategory. All friendship only fic belongs in the GENERAL fanfiction section, not in one of the existing character sections.



Challenges/Plot Bunnies:


- Challenges & plot bunnies are most welcome!

- Willow-centric challenges & plot bunnies only please.

- A challenge or plot bunny should be more than 2 lines. Here's an example of what is nota challenge or plot bunny: "Someone please write a W/S fic." This is a request. Got a request? Try one of the mailing lists that allows OT posts.



Essays:


- Essays are most welcome!

- Should be at least 200 words.

- Must be a Willow-centric essay. Examples of possible essay topics: "Why W/S?", "Willow through the seasons" (Which I think has actually been written), "W/Faith, doomed from the start?"... We could go on forever.

Drabbles:

- Drabbles are welcome at WLS.

- They MUST be archived in the Drabbles section.  Drabbles archived anywhere else on the site will be deleted.

- Drabbles are 100-300 words long.

- If at all possible, please group as many of your drabbles together. (Ex. Willow-centric HP xover drabbles in on story with each new drabble as a new chapter.)

Other Fandom Fanfiction:

- Fic from other fandoms is welcome at WLS.  All non-Willow-centric fanfiction belongs in one of the sub-categories of the Other Fic section.

- No sex between characters under the age of 17.

- No Harry Potter Slash fic is allowed. ::gags::

- 500 word minimum for chapters and fics.

- 100 word minimum for drabbles.  If at all possible please group drabbles together like a thread. (Ex. Drabble 1 - Chapter 1.  Drabble 2 - Chapter 2...)  It will help save server resources.

- Challenges are welcome.  Please place all challenges in the challenges section.



Disclaimer: The archivist has the right to refuse any fic that is not considered suitable for archiving, or remove any fic that *becomes* unsuitable for the archive. Ex. No punctuation at all, no capitalization at all, is not in English, if the fic is extremely badly written, does not follow the submission guidelines, or the fic becomes the type of fic that is not appropriate for the archive.
