WillAngel List Rules

WillAngel:  The premier BtVS mailing list devoted to fanfic about the forbidden love between Willow & Angel.   With over 300 members, including some of the most talented of the W/A fanfic writers, this is *the* list to be on to read the best fiction about the best non-couple on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, & now Angel.

Willangel is an AGE RESTRICTED mailing list.  If you are not at least 18 you may not join the list.  If your age is not listed in your yahoo profile, you will not be approved to join the list.

How do I put my age in my yahoo profile?

1.  Go to the Yahoo!Groups home.  After you log in, go to "Account Information".

2.  Click on the "Create/Edit Profiles" link.

3.  The next page that comes up should be "Public Profiles for ___________." (your yahoo ID).  Click on the "Edit" link.

4.  When you get to your profile page, click on the "Edit Profile Information" link.

5.  There is an age field where you can type in your age.

6.  Don't forget to *save* your changes!

What can I post to the WillAngel mailing list?

- OT posts are allowed, but absolutely NO spam.  Any OT posts MUST have something to do with Buffy or Angel.

- Challenges with Willow & Angel(us) as the main focus.

- Essays focusing on the W/A ship.

- Please include the information below with EVERY fanfiction post.   This is just a basic header, so if you want to add to it, that's fine!   If you're not sure what some of this stuff is, just let me know & I'll fill you in.   willowslilsecret@yahoo.com

- All R & NC-17 rated fanfiction MUST be labeled in the subject to let people know they're about to read adult material.  Some list members may check their email at work.  These people could get into a lot of trouble if they open an NC-17 post that isn't labeled.

- If you have problems remembering to put the header in you post, or you forget to label the R or NC-17 rating in the subject header, after 1 warning you will be moderated.

- What is 'moderated'?  That means I have to approve EVERYTHING you post to this list.

What is OT?

OT means Off Topic.  An OT post is anything that isn't fanfiction, a W/A challenge, or an essay.

What about Virus warnings... can I send those to the list?

NO!!!   More often than not those virus warnings are fake.   If there is a REAL virus going around I'll send a warning to the list in the News Letter.   It saves you the embarrassment of sending it to the list & being wrong.  Besides, viruses cannot be spread on the willangel mailing list.  We do not allow attachments here.

What if I want to send fan art/graphics to the list?

If you want to share your fan art/graphics with the list, just upload the file(s) to the photos section of the list.   Preferably W/A, or single shots of Willow/Aly &/or Angel/David.   NO  PORN!!!   You upload porn, you get banned.   Banned means you'll never be allowed to join the list again.

Things that will get you banned:

- Soliciting.  (Trying to get us to buy something through a post to the list, a link in the links section, or a document in the files section.)

- Trashing me or another list member.

- Proven plagiarism.   You'll also be added to my Known Plagiarists site.

- Uploading pornographic pictures &/or movies to the files section or photos section & links to pornographic pix/movies in the links section.

Jen's feelings about PLAGIARISM:

DO  NOT  POST  PLAGIARIZED  MATERIAL  TO  THIS  LIST!!!    I  HATE  PLAGIARISTS!!!    THEY  DISGUST  ME!!!    IF  YOU  ARE  ACCUSED  OF  PLAGIARISM,   (&  IT  CAN  BE  PROVEN),   NOT  ONLY  WILL  I  GO  ALL  EVIL  JEN  ON   YOU,   I  WILL  ALSO  ADD  YOU  TO  MY  KNOWN  PLAGIARISTS  SITE  SO  EVERYONE  WITH  INTERNET  ACCESS  WILL  KNOW  YOU  ARE  A  THIEF!!!    I know, all that shouting can't be good.   It just seriously irks me when people steal someone else's hard work.

The WillAngel list bouncing policy:

If you are bouncing I will send your account two reactivation requests.  One per week for two weeks.   [Bouncing usually means your mailbox is full & the messages posted to the list are "Bouncing" back to yahoo, or your email account has been cancelled for some reason.]   If both reactivation requests bounce back, then I will unsub you.   You obviously aren't reading the posts anyway, so bye!   If you clean out your mailbox regularly this most likely won't be a problem for you.

When you start bouncing messages you stop receiving messages from all the lists you're subscribed to under the bouncing email address.  If you realize you aren't getting any messages from any of your lists, this is what you do:

1.)  Go to the yahoo groups 'My Groups' section.  (You have to sign in first)  If you've never registered with yahoo groups then this is not an option for you.

2.)  Click on "Email Preferences'. From here you can send yourself a reactivation request.

3.)  You will receive an email from yahoo groups with a link enabling you to reactivate your account.

It's really very easy, so all you technophobes shouldn't have any problems. :>

How do I avoid bouncing messages when I go on vacation?

The best way to avoid bouncing messages when you go on vacation is to set  *ALL*  the mailing lists to which you are subscribed to special notices or no mail.  The special notices option will only allow posts by the list moderator(s), such as ADMIN posts.   The no mail option means, well, no mail.   No explanation is really needed for that one.  ;>   If you have any questions please contact me here:  willowslilsecret@yahoo.com

What are some of the most common reasons for bouncing messages?

- Your mailbox is full & there is no more space for incoming messages.

- You belong to a large number of lists & there are too many messages being delivered at one time.   One way to avoid this is to set some of the lists to daily digest.   That will cut down on the messages delivered to you mailbox.

- Your email account has been suspended or cancelled.

- Your email service provider is having technical difficulties.

- Your email service provider is upgrading their servers.

- The email account(s) you have with your ISP offers a spam blocker or offensive content blocker.   My recommendation is to get web based email provider just for the mailing lists you're subscribed to.

- Sometimes yahell goes nuts & EVERYONE starts bouncing messages (including the list mum who cleans out her mailbox twice daily).

- You have a hotmail account.   Hotmail email addresses bounce more often than any other email provider.   It's probably the low account limit.   There are a couple of free email service providers out there that offer higher limits.   All you have to do is look.  :>
